Weekday schedules and better label recognition

Stack Almanac now lets you set supplements to specific days, recognises more label ingredients and counts choline by what each form contains.

Stack Almanac now lets you choose the days you take each supplement, recognises more of the ingredients on your labels, and counts choline by what each form contains.

Can I take a supplement only on certain days?

Yes. Open a supplement you take regularly and use Days you take it to tap off the days you skip. Today, your reminders and your Telegram commands then count that supplement only on its days. A supplement you take on Monday, Wednesday and Friday no longer shows up on a Tuesday.

Which ingredients does Stack Almanac recognise now?

More of them. Ingredients are matched as you add a product, including forms written on the label as "(as X)". Six ingredients join the catalogue: L-tyrosine, DMAE, ginkgo biloba, panax notoginseng, sage and acetyl-L-carnitine. Fewer products should come back as "not fully checked". Names we can't place yet go onto a review list, so each one only needs confirming once.

How are choline totals counted?

By the choline each form actually contains. Choline bitartrate is about 41% choline, alpha-GPC about 40% and citicoline about 21%, so 250 mg of citicoline adds about 53 mg to your choline total. Extracts labelled with a percentage, such as "50% phosphatidylserine", count at that percentage. Products that list vitamin B3 or B5 now add up under niacin and pantothenic acid.

What happens when I lower a dose?

It applies in one step. If an ingredient in your routine is already above its daily upper limit, lowering a dose, moving a time or restocking at the same dose no longer stops to ask. You see a note about that ingredient instead. A change that would raise the total still asks first.

What's new on Telegram?

Reply "done minus psyllium" to a reminder, and everything else in that block is logged as taken while psyllium is recorded as skipped. "done except" and "all but" work too. Replies and commands like "skip dinner" follow your local date, so a late-evening reply counts towards the right day, and late-evening blocks count on the evening you take them. This builds on the earlier reminders update.

What's coming to iPhone?

Two things arrive with the next iOS update. You'll be able to buy Pro inside the iPhone app through the App Store, and Apple Health sync will bring in blood pressure and weight. Until that update is installed, Pro is bought on the web, and the Apple Health Shortcut already carries both readings.

Smaller things

  • Tapping a dose while a suggestion is open on Today logs it straight away.
  • Suggestions on Today show a dose once, even when the product name already includes it. Suggestions sit on the row they would change, as described in the previous update.
  • Ask the Almanac Advisor to add something to your dinner block and it recognises a supplement that's already in your Evening block.
  • The rest of today's releases were behind-the-scenes work on reliability, privacy and security.
