Rhodiola rosea
An arctic root traditionally used against fatigue. Modern research focuses on stress resilience.
Rhodiola rosea is an adaptogenic herb native to cold mountain and arctic regions, traditionally used to reduce fatigue and improve resilience under physical and mental strain. Its active compounds, rosavins and salidroside, are the components most extracts are standardised against, though rhodiola's research base is smaller and less consistent than ashwagandha's. It is typically taken in the morning, since some users find it mildly stimulating, and is generally well tolerated at studied doses.
